Zedmos

Platform

One engine. One pass. Every layer.

Classification, threat intelligence, inspection, policy and routing happen once, in one place, on the appliance. Not a chain of products forwarding packets to each other.

Questions and answers

What is the Zedmos platform architecture?

One inline engine on the appliance that classifies, consults threat intelligence, inspects, decides and routes in a single pass, rather than a chain of products forwarding packets to each other. Three planes: data and control on the box, management in the console.

What operating system does Zedmos run on?

FreeBSD. The engine ships as a package for OPNsense and pfSense CE, both FreeBSD-based, and as Zedmos NGFW on our own FreeBSD-based operating system, ZedmOS.

Which capabilities ship today, and which are still being built?

Sixteen capabilities are listed on the capability page, each with its shipping status. All sixteen are generally available today; anything still being built would be labelled as such rather than described in the present tense.
